Join representatives from CALPHO and an LPHA to learn about Colorado's governmental public health system; review key policy opportunities related to funding, immunizations, and food safety; and discuss opportunities for CALPHO and CAFP to work more closely together in service of shared goals. Learning Objectives: CALPHO's bio:The Colorado Association of Local Public Health Officials (CALPHO) is the professional association representing Colorado's 56 local public health agencies. Over the past 20 years, CALPHO has worked to foster a strong, effective, and sustainable public health system that promotes and protects health for everyone in Colorado. The organization has three pillars of work: providing member supports, enhancing partnerships with state agencies and other stakeholders, and advancing policy and advocacy priorities for local governmental public health. Speaker:Allie Morgan, Policy Director, CALPHO and TBD Local Public Health Agency representative: Allie Morgan is the Policy Director for the Colorado Association of Local Public Health Officials (CALPHO). She is responsible for supporting public health policy and advocacy needs through research, analysis, education, and training activities focused on state and local government. Allie facilitates the Association's Policy Committee, strengthens relationships with key partners, and builds capacity within LPHAs for policy engagement. She came to CALPHO in 2023 after almost a decade at the Colorado Health Institute. She grew up in Fort Collins and holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government.
