CAFP News: CAFP Welcomes New Director of Policy and Government Relations

DENVER, Nov. 24, 2025 – The Colorado Academy of Family Physicians (CAFP) is pleased to welcome Isabel Hinshaw as Director of Policy and Government Relations. Isabel will lead CAFP’s healthcare advocacy and policy efforts to advance family medicine at the state capitol as well as with state regulators and our partners. 

Isabel holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Sciences with focuses in Biology and Health Sciences, as well as a minor in Political Science from the University of Denver where she discovered her passion for health policy.

Prior to joining CAFP, Isabel served as the Legislative Analyst at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing, engaging on state policy related to Medicaid, and advocating on behalf of the department. She also previously worked as the legislative aide for a state legislator in the Colorado House of Representatives.
