SUMMARY:CAFP Virtual Knowledge Self-Assessment Work Group
DESCRIPTION:The Diabetes ABFM-developed KSA activity focuses on preventing and diagnosing diabetes mellitus\, recognizing the clinical implications of insulin-resistance syndromes\, recognizing and managing microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus\, managing diabetic ketoacidosis and non-ketotic hyperosmolar coma\, nonpharmacologic management of diabetes mellitus\, and pharmacologic management of diabetes mellitus.  \n\n\n\nLearning Objectives:After successful completion of the Diabetes KSA\, the physician will have been exposed to up-to-date content as it relates to hospitalized patients and have an opportunity to close knowledge gaps that existed prior to participation in the Diabetes KSA activity.  \n\n\n\n\n1. After completing the Diabetes KSA\, the physician will be able to close knowledge gaps and have a better understating of pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic management of diabetes mellitus.  \n\n\n\n2. After completing the Diabetes KSA\, the physician will be able to close knowledge gaps\, and have a better understanding of how to recognize and manage microvascular complications of diabetes mellitus.  \n\n\n\n3. After completing the Diabetes KSA\, the physician will be able to close knowledge gaps\, and be able to diagnose and  manage diabetic ketoacidosis and nonketotic hyperosmolar coma.  \n\n\n\n4. After completing the Diabetes KSA\, the physician will be able to close knowledge gaps and will be able to recognize clinical implications of insulin-resistance syndromes.  \n\n\n\n5. After completing the Diabetes KSA\, the physician will be able to close knowledge gaps and have a better understanding of how to diagnose diabetes mellitus.  \n\n\n\n6. After completing the Diabetes KSA\, the physician will be able to close knowledge gaps and will have a better understanding of how to prevent of diabetes mellitus.
